AWESOME & JWA-United this Saturday (7/11) on USS New Jersey in Camden, NJ Print E-mail
Wednesday, July 08, 2009
In less than one week, American Wrestling's Elite Stars Of Mat Entertainment (AWESOME) joins forces with JWA-United Wrestling to present a very special once-in-a-lifetime pro wrestling event on Saturday, July 11 at 3 p.m. onboard the fantail of the historic World War II-era Battleship New Jersey, now located at 62 Battleship Place in Camden, NJ 08103.

The most decorated battleship in naval history, the USS New Jersey earned a Navy Unit Commendation for service in Vietnam and 19 battle and campaign stars for combat operations during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Lebanese Civil War, and service in the Persian Gulf. She was donated to the Home Port Alliance in Camden, New Jersey, and in October of 2001 began her career as a museum ship.

This wrestling event, entitled "Bedlam on the Battleship," will be a fund raiser for the Battleship New Jersey Museum. Doors will open to the public for seating at 2 p.m.

As you know, the main event will see the combination of "Dirty" Don Montoya & The "King of the Indies" Reckless Youth will do battle with Team America: Section 8 & Kid America. Reckless Youth & Don Montoya are two well-traveled veterans who can adapt to virtually any style or opponent. Reckless Youth has also spent some time under contract to the WWE. They will have they work cut out for them when they face the unorthodox Section 8 and the world famous Kid America.

The JWA World Title will be on the line when champion Rick Silver defends against longtime rival and Commissioner of AWESOME Joe Rules. Not only is the gold on the line, but the loser of the match will never wrestle again!  No strangers to the squared circle, Joe Rules and Rick Silver have been going at each other for nearly twenty years. Silver has held the gold since 2007 and is also a former UWF World Champion. Rules was the first-ever JAPW Heavyweight Champion as well as a two-time UWC Heavyweight Champion; but he has never held a title belt in JWA-United Wrestling.  This Saturday will be the last match ever for one of these men.  Do not miss this.

Taylor Nicole Rules will defend the JWA-United Women's Title against Kacee Carlisle. Taylor Nicole is not only the JWA-United Women's Champion but also the Jersey Shore Women's Champion and has had successful title defenses against the likes of Roxie Cotton and Athena Cage. Her toughest challenge to date takes place in Camden, NJ when she puts the title on the line against Kacee Carlisle, accompanied by The "Princess" Chrissy Johnson.

The first American Champion will be crowned as Dan Rageous goes one on one with Brian Mitchell Foster. By defeating the team of The "Maniacal" Hubie Volk & The "Indian Warrior" Draven in a tag team bout, Jersey Shore Cruiserweight Champion Dan Rageous and Brian Mitchell Foster earned the right to face each other to fill the vacant title. Rageous and BMF now have the opportunity to make history on The Battleship New Jersey.

Chicago native Jack Paris makes his managerial debut in a big way on July 11. He has assembled an all-star team consisting of "Textbook" Philly Madison, T-Bonz, Erik Kreed, and Shorty Smalls. They challenged any four wrestlers to face them on the Battleship. Immediately accepting the challenge was none other than UWF World Champion Bill Ding. He will be joined by Chocolate Boy Wonder, Steve Zapf, and Rudo The Heel. Will Jack Paris' stable come out on top, or will Bill Ding and Company emerge victorious? Time will tell.

PLUS an Invitational Battle Royal; Jay Blaze vs. a Silver Bullet; Dr. Hurtz vs. Dave Kalypso; and a very special Cruiserweight Open in which the smaller wrestlers will have the opportunity to become number one contender to the Jersey Shore Crusierweight Title.
Also signed to appear: Jersey Shore Tag Team Champions The Society of Ventrue, Radical Robby Morrison, Athena Cage, The Guitar Heroes, and MORE!

Once again fans, don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime history-making show. Let's face it, no other wrestling promotion has ever run an event in a venue quite like this!
