National Wrestling Superstars on 8/1 in Long Branch, NJ featuring Balls Mahoney vs. Snitsky in a cage Print E-mail

Summertime at the Jersey Shore is steeped in tradition. And one tradition that will continue this year is National Wrestling Superstars' annual under-the-stars pro wrestling spectacular at the Italian-American Memorial Association Showgrounds at 195 West End Avenue in Long Branch, NJ (minutes from the beaches and Route 36), taking place on Saturday night August 1st at 8:05pm.

This year's card promises to top all the previous ones. How, you ask? With pro wrestling's ultimate showdown... a Steel Cage Match between two TV wrestling veterans. Former WWE and ECW icon, and Jersey Shore native, John "Balls" Mahoney will battle former WWE RAW snarling brawler Gene Snitsky. These two titans spent all Spring battling each other and across the tri-state area with no clear winner. The only thing these two can agree on is that this is the only way to settle the score once and for all. And NWS management has decided that a match of this magnitude between legends needs a special guest referee, none other than "The Legend Killer" himself, Helter Skelter.

The theater of the unusual doesn't end there. NWS Cruiserweight Champion and local native Mighty Mikey Pacifica will defend his title in a three-way dance against two unique opponents... Chikara Pro Wrestling high-flier Golden Lynx, and the half-man half-simian oddity Kong-a-rilla.

Fans of women's wrestling are also in for a treat that night as, just added to the card, northeast veteran and former ECW Women's Champion Angel Orsini takes on the challenge of rising superstar Brooke Carter. Also just added to the card will be another former ECW brawler, The Equalizer. The still undefeated pair of 350-pound monsters The Nigerian Nightmares will make their first ever Long Branch appearance, along with American turncoat T.N.T, Shock, Divine, and a whole lot more.

Tickets are only $20 for ringside seats and $18 for general admission rear seating, and are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major credit cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more.
