What a WRESTLING show tonight at the Derby Sports Arena. Ian emphasized on wrestling tonight and it was one of his better cards. Surprises, comedy, brawling, and most wrestling filled tonight's card. The show started with Rico introducing the brand new NWA US Tag Team Champions, Ian Rotten and Blaze. The match against the Misfits when they won the title in Bardstown Saturday night was wild and the ovation they received tonight at the arena was very loud. Ian then told Rico he had the night off because Ian wanted to ring announce since he can't wrestle due to the suspension. Now onto the action. In the first match, the American Kickboxer defeated the NWA's "Overweight Lover" Don Montoya. Montoya hit a tilt a whirl slam and a northern lights bomb on Kickboxer but Kickboxer retaliated with Ultimo Dragon like kick combinations and a spinning senton off the top rope for the pin in 4:34. Twiggy Ramirez defeated Terek the Great in an excellent wrestling match that involved a great angle. The match started with Twiggy doing an arm ringer on Terek. Terek would flip out of the hold and reverse it. Twiggy would try to flip out but kept hurting himself when he landed on his back. Twiggy would then yell at Terek, "How do you do that?" Terek hit a tope through the ropes onto Twiggy while Twiggy was outside the ring. He then went back in the ring and tried a plancha but missed and crashed to the floor. Twiggy then went on the offensive and hit a Rude Awakening followed by a reverse stump puller. Twiggy then executed a northern lights suplex but Terek kept kicking out. Twiggy went to the top but Terek got up and delivered an impressive Rude Awakening to Twiggy while Twiggy was on the top rope. The two traded high impact moves back and forth for a few minutes until Terek got a chair. A legit Athletic Commission member came running up to the ring and said that chairs are illegal and that Terek couldn't use it. Ian came to the ring and started arguing with the commission member. The ref tried to separate them and Terek was watching the melee on the floor. Twiggy attacked from behind and hit a DDT onto the chair for the pin in 15:00. Ian threw the commission member out and told them to lock the door and told the commission that if they wanted to close his promotion down that they would need to bring in the state troopers. The arena was going nuts and chanting "IWA" as loud as they could.
Cash Flo defeated Rollin' Hard in a tremendous brawl. Flo hit Rollin' with the Sabu Dropkick/Butt Bump move in the corner and a DDT early in the match. Both bled from chair shots and Rollin' hit an awesome baseball slide dropkick into a chair on Flo from inside the ring to the floor. They set up a table on the floor and then they fought on the apron. Rollin' picked up Flo and put him through the table with a side slam like Nash uses. Flo recovered and hit a DDT and then the Wall Street (Alabama) Jam for the win in 5:42. Cash Flo did not do his flip elbow because as he told us after the show his side and his shoulder is hurting and he just isn't able to do the move right now. Still a great brawling match. Blaze defeated Tyrin in an excellent wrestling match filled with highspots. Tyrin hit a split leg twisting legdrop off the top rope on Blaze and Blaze hit with a powerful spinebuster very early in the match. Both wrestlers exchanged the high impact moves for around ten minutes with many near falls. Tyrin hit the Death Penalty of Wrath's from the top rope. Blaze hit with a tigerbomb and a TBone Suplex before picking Tyrin up for the Samoan Drop and turning it into the Diamond Cutter like DDP for the win. Best match of the night. The next match was the comedy portion of the show. Every worker was upstairs looking out through the camera hole to watch Debbie Combs face Rosie Palmer. Rosie was Mad Man Pondo under a mask, dressed as a woman. Pondo lost the loser leave IWA for 30 days match last week against Ox Harley. The fans were loving it and Debbie Combs was having a fit. Both got mike time and then the match started and they did rude sexual grabbing moves to each other for a few minutes. The crowd was laughing hysterically. Candi Devine came out all tape up and the ref stopped the match as I guess Candi Devine was supposed to be the opponent for Debbie. Pondo was forced to unmasked and Ian told him to leave and fulfill the contract stip and he could come back when the 30 days is up. Debbie challenged Pondo to a match and Pondo agreed so on October the 28th Pondo will face Debbie Combs for the NWA Women's Title!!!????? Ox Harley defeated Tower of Doom in a double juice brawl. There was a catfight in the crowd in the beginning that threw everyone off guard. Don't know what the fight was about but it took attention away from the match and the match suffered because of it. The girls went outside and many tried to follow to watch. Ian told everyone that if they went outside they would need to buy another ticket to get in again. Both wrestlers swung chairs and did their usual brawling spots. Ox wins with a moonsault in the worst match of the night that actually was a match. Still it was entertaining but it could have been better. Then it was time for the main event. Buddy Landell vs. a mystery opponent chosen by Ian. Ian swerved everybody or at least he tried to. Tom Burton was at the card and had been walking around so most everyone in the building thought Burton was the opponent. Burton even came out at the beginning. We had our signs ready though because we knew who we wanted it to be. The lights went out after Burton and Landell got in the ring and "We Will Rock You" started up on the PA system. We grabbed our "Welcome Back Doug" signs and started jumping up and down as Dougie Gilbert came out to the ring and attacked Landell. Both bled in this match. Landell after getting hit with Gilbert's boot and Gilbert after getting thrown into the ringpost twice. The match was pretty much just a brawl. Dougie looked much better and he won with a piledriver in 7:23. Dougie said he might bring some friends to the show Tuesday and Landell promised a few surprises of his own. The tv taping should be wild.
